Commercial Truck Driving (CDL) Training Program

The Adult and Continuing Education Center at York County School of Technology (YCST) CDL Class A Truck Driving Certificate Program prepares students for employment in the transportation industry. This is a three phase program that includes classroom, yard, and road time.  Preparation for knowledge test provided. Road test included. This program is designed to prepare students to:

Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.

Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or  repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.

Drive trucks and capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor trailers combinations, to transport and deliver products, livestock, or other materials.

Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew and checking that vehicle and loading equipment are properly positioned.

Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.

Couple or uncouple trailers by changing trailer jack positions, connecting or disconnecting air or electrical lines, or manipulating fifth-wheel locks.

Short Term Day 200 hours/5 Weeks Mon-Thu, 7:00 AM-5:00 PM
